Perhaps imagination is only intelligence having fun.”- George Scialabba in “Mindplay.” Harvard Magazine, Mar.–Apr. 1984, p. 19

About me...

Tega Ubogun is a final-year student at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), completing a degree in Education with Fine Art Painting. Her practice is grounded in the belief that art education is most powerful when it is inclusive, socially responsive, and accessible to learners across diverse contexts.

During her teacher placements, Tega has worked across a wide range of Irish post-primary school settings, including voluntary co-educational schools, CEIST schools, ETSS, and DEIS ETB co-educational environments. This breadth of experience has strengthened her ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning needs, school cultures, and socio-economic contexts. As a developing educator, she has become especially committed to equitable access in education, with a growing interest in supporting students with diverse learning profiles and ensuring that creativity is not limited by background or circumstance.

As both an artist and an educator, Tega draws from Fine Art Painting to inform her approach to teaching, viewing visual art not only as a subject but as a tool for critical thinking, identity formation, and developmental growth. Her practice considers how art operates across stages of learning; from early creative development to academic-level inquiry, bridging this awareness into lesson planning, classroom engagement, and reflective teaching.
